The Bentley OpenUtilities Designer and Bentley OpenUtilities Map Network Trace dialog provides a single UI for all electric network trace operations. The Network Trace dialog can be accessed though the menu item Electric > Utilities > Network Trace.

The Trace dialog can also be accessed from the Utilities toolbar:

The Network Trace Dialog can be divided into three areas.

1. The top part of the dialog, where a network trace is defined, initialized and/or validated:
2. The middle part of the dialog, where the trace action is set and From and To features are selected:
3. The bottom of the dialog, where the trace is executed, cleared or trace results are used for reporting:
4. Optionally, the dialog can be enlarged by the button in the bottom left corner, to interactively add features to act as trace barriers.
